Less interest in PNB saving account

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has cut interest on savings account by 0.50 percent. From July 1, the bank's savings account will get a maximum interest of 3.25 percent per annum. In PNB's savings account, 3 percent per annum will be given on the balance of up to Rs 50 lakh, and 3.25 percent interest will be given annually on the balance above 50 lakh. Earlier, the country's largest bank SBI and Kotak Mahindra Bank had also cut the savings account interest.

Bank of Baroda account will freeze

Bank of Baroda had sent an SMS to customers in the past and said that if they do not update their bank account as soon as possible, the account will be frozen. Recently, Vijaya and Dena Bank merged with Bank of Baroda. For bank updating, submit Aadhaar, PAN, and ration card or any other identity in which death of birth is written. If the document is not submitted, the account can freeze.


Minimum balance waiver facility ended

From July 1, the rule of minimum balance in the savings account of the bank will end. The government had ended the need to keep the minimum monthly balance in savings account till June 30 during the lockdown. If the minimum balance is not present in the savings account of the customer, banks will not charge from it. Right now, according to a metro city, urban, semi-urban, and rural areas, the limit for keeping a minimum balance in a savings account in different banks is different.

ATM withdrawal rebate ended

The exemption in ATM withdrawals across the country will end from July 1. At present, there is an exemption to withdraw 10 thousand rupees from an ATM. At the same time, during the lockdown, the exemption was given for three months on withdrawals. There is no charge for withdrawing money from ATMs during this period. This exemption is applicable till 30 June. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharan had announced the waiver saying that this waiver has been given to give relief to the people from lockdown.
